Specified in this standard steel can be used for steel S460, S500, S550 and S620 and the minimum nominal thickness is 3 mm, S690 maximum nominal thickness of ≤150 mm hot rolling plate production, or less after quenching and tempering steel specified minimum yield strength is 460 MPa and 960MPa.

The minimum content of 0.015% applies to soluble aluminium, this value is regarded as stained if the total aluminium content is at least 0.018%;in case of dispute the soluble aluminium content shall be determined.
